Prize Bingo Record Smashed

26th Jun 2024

A most memorable Prize Bingo Tea held earlier tonight at the Cochrane Hall saw the previous seasonal total blown apart. The crowd of just over sixty were treated to some fantastic fun with some of the finest prizes yet offered at our monthly fund raisers. The best strawberry tarts in the business (road tested by our Secretary for suitability!!) were on the table along with the usual Borders and Rocky Chocolate Biscuits.

Tonight the sum of just over £610 was raised which meant that the total brought in over the season since last September burst the £4,000 mark for the every first time, keeping these evenings as the largest single source of income for the running of the Games.

Games Secretary Craig Dunbar took time at the interval to thank everyone who helped to make these evenings the huge success which they are. The team from ADT at the Hall work tirelessly but dependably to set up the hall and serve the refreshments. Mary and Christine who seem to spend most of their spare time in arranging the prizes and the individuals who selflessly donate prizes received special mention. Most of all, he thanked everyone who attended month after month because without them there would be no Bingo Teas and a huge hole in the operating budget of these Games.

And there it is. Another Season is over. Next stop is Games day on Saturday 13th July but, not resting on our laurels, the next one is already in the diary for Wednesday 25th September at 7.30pm. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Games and, meantime, wish everyone a most enjoyable and relaxing Summer.
