The brightness of the sun outside matched the atmosphere inside the Cochrane Hall tonight for the final Prize Bingo Tea before the 164th Famous Alva Games. 55 contestants took part in the evening's events and many went home with some of the best prizes on offer on the prize bingo circuit.
Games Secretary, Craig Dunbar, was delighted to let the audience know that the record sum of £506 was collected tonight and that this sum, when added to the other sums received since last September, meant that the grand total for the season broke the £3,000 barrier for the very first time. With the ever increasing costs of the Games now heading towards £25,000, he thanked everyone in the Hall for their magnificent contribution to raising this outstanding sum.
Games Chairman, Jamie Sharp, assisted with the presentation of a small gift to Mary (who went on to win the very last game!), Christine and Nan for all their hard work during the season and to Mary Laing and her whole team at the Cochrane Hall without whose help these evenings simply could not take place.
There is a break now for the summer, but the next Prize Bingo should be added to your diary for Wednesday 28th September 2022 at 7pm. Meantime, we look forward to seeing all of you at the Games on 9th July. Thank you all.
