The Games Committee is delighted to report that Clackmannanshire Sports Council has agreed to continue with its support of the Youths running events at the annual showpiece in July. CSC has been supporting the Youths 800 metres footrace for a number of years and some superb and close finishes have been witnessed by the crowds. With some of the youngsters moving on to take a keen hold in the adult events upon turning 16, the assistance given in keeping these middle distance races alive and competitive is very much appreciated by the Games Committee.

Games Treasurer John Glencross is pictured collecting the sponsorship cheque from CSC Chair, Roy Clarke, at a special presentation ceremony held at Alloa Academy at the beginning of April. Also receiving an award that night from CSC was Clackmannan teenager Martyn Paterson, a man who is no stranger to the prizewinners' podium at Alva.
