The last prize bingo of the season yesterday was one to remember and for all the right reasons. A crowd of just under 60 packed the hall on a pretty dreich night - some of whom had only just made it back from a day trip to Carlisle - to witness one of the most successful nights in the Games history.

A magnificent summer hamper from a mystery donor was the star prize in the special raffle and an extra flyer gave the ladies in attendance a superb night's entertainment. Home baking and M...r Bayne's strawberry tarts made sure that everyone had a night to remember. A total of £412 was raised tonight and the season total of £2,400 has been put towards the games funds. Thanks to all, especially Mary, Nan, Isobel and Janette for all they have done all season and especially to the good people of the town and wider county who come along each month to support the games.
