The AGM of the Alva Games Committee took place on Sunday 26th October 2008 at 7pm in St. John Vianney Church Hall, East Stirling Street, Alva. The meeting was pleased to receive a positive report from the 2008 games and agreed that the planning should begin for 2009.

The Committee was particularly grateful to the Leisure Team at Clackmannanshire Council and to the Alva Community Council for all of the hard work that they had all put in to this year's festivities and were pleased to note that this support would continue next year. The committee welcomed on board a new member - the first for many a year - Euan MacPherson, formerly of Alva and now of Sauchie.

The Committee were delighted to confer honorary life membership of the Games upon Sheila Bulloch and Karen Kirkwood, both of the Council Leisure Team in recognition of all of the support - practical and sometimes emotional!!! - extended to the games in recent years.

The next Committee meeting was fixed for Sunday 1st February 2009 at 7pm. The usual notices will be given.
