13th Mar 2021
Not entirely surprisingly, given the number of cancellations that have already been announced for the 2021 season, we have been receiving a number in inquiries about the re-arranged 164th Famous Alva Games, due to be held on Saturday 10th July.
Put short, no decision has yet been made, but the Committee will be meeting electronically on Sunday 28th March to consider what options might be open to them. By then we will have heard, hopefully, some more positive detail from the Scottish Government as to the likelihood of larger public gatherings taking place and, if so, under what conditions.
We want the Games to go ahead, but we have to be mindful of our wider obligations to our supporters, competitors and officials so please rest assured that we will explore every possible avenue open to us at that time. Any decision taken will be posted on this site and also on our Facebook page as soon as it is possible to do so thereafter. Please bear with us for a little longer.
For the avoidance of doubt, there will be NO monthly prize bingo tea evenings for the foreseeable future and a note about them will be included in our general notice after the 28th.
