Games Day 2021

10th Jul 2021

Opening Ceremony held in spite of the Cancellation of the Games

For the second successive year, the Games Committee held the Opening Ceremony for the Games in the arena even although the Games themselves had fallen victim again to the Covid restrictions. At least this year the public could come along and spectate and a healthy number chose to do so. Words of welcome and encouragement were deliverd by Games Chairman Jamie Sharp and Hon. Life Chairman, Ken McCaffrey as well as Vice Lord-Lieutenant John Spruce.

There was pipe music and Highland Dancing as well as a few presentations, some of which were a surprise to those taking part. Images are available on the Gallery 2021 page and a video on our Facebook page.
