In what was a busy day for the Games Committee, the 13th Best Dressed Shop Window contest took place on Tuesday morning. Chairman Jamie Sharp and Margaret Malcolm, who has been a judge since the inaugural contest in 2006, made their way around the main streets of the town in fairly grim weather but had their spirits brightened up by the variety of the colourful displays they saw.
In what was a very closely contested event, the winners were Alva Antiques, who took full advantage of their new premises and the large front window to showcase their artistic talents. The Cat's Whiskers were the runners up and, with their usual high quality entry, Nicol's Opticians were third. Prizes will be awarded on Thursday morning and more pictures will follow. The winning display is featured here.
