13th Jan 2007
The final Bingo Tea of the season was held tonight in St John Vianney Church Hall when a very healthy audience of 46 bingo players came along. A great time was had by all who attended and the season's highest sum of £280 was raised towards the costs of the 2009 games. There was an extra flyer and a superb summer hamper donated by Sheena McCaig as the top raffle prize. She has said already that she will repeat this donation in September.
The Committee would like to thank everyone who made this such a successful evening and in particular all those who donated prizes for this or subsequent evenings or who contributed to the provision of sandwiches and baking.
A presentation of chocolates was made to our two long serving stalwarts Mary McKendrick and Nan Huggan who control proceedings with quiet efficiency and to whom the Committee's thanks are extended again.
The first prize bingo tea of the new season will take place on Wednesday 23rd September 2009 at 7.30pm in the same venue. There will be another special raffle for a great food hamper. See you all there.
