The competition was judged this morning by the usual panel of judges, Margaret Malcolm, Chair and Doreen Harvey, Treasurer of the Alva Community Council, Provost Derek Stewart, Chair and Craig Dunbar, Secretary of the Games Committee. 18 shops had entered the fray. The theme was “The Hills are alive...”.
In a very closely run contest the winner was Lynne Stewart with Shamrocks Florists and No. 140 (last year’s winners) in 2nd and 3rd. All the prize winners have won it before (Lynne Stewart in 2007) and the effort put in by all of the competitors was a credit to the whole town.
Presentation of the Alva Games trophy, prize monies and certificates took place at the winning shop at 11am on Thursday 7th July
